The «Double Diamond» model is used to define business problems and find optimal solutions. It is based on a study by the British Design Council. The technique divides the service design process into four stages and visualizes it in the form of "Two Diamonds":
This approach uses two types of thinking: divergent and convergent. With divergent thinking, we can look at the problem broadly, abstract and see it from the other side. Convergent thinking returns focus and identifies one or two priority tasks or solutions.
The phases of the diamond-shaped design thinking process either converge at one point or diverge. On the diverging phases, design thinkers do not limit themselves in the creative, and on the converging ones - concentrate and narrow their ideas.
Bridging the "reality gap" between organizations and people, both employees and customers, becomes a priority for any innovative company.
To be competitive, organizations need to consciously build their relationships with society and each individual. Design thinking provides effective tools for this.
Service design begins with a full understanding of people and their needs, and is based on three principles:
