WHAT IS SERVICE DESIGN?

Service Design is not just why you prefer one coffee shop over another. This is also the reason why you come back to this place again and again and tell about it to all your friends.

"DOUBLE DIAMOND" DESIGN THINKING

The «Double Diamond» model is used to define business problems and find optimal solutions. It is based on a study by the British Design Council. The technique divides the service design process into four stages and visualizes it in the form of "Two Diamonds":

  • discovery and research - acquaintance with the problem (divergence);
  • design - search for many potential solutions (divergence);
  • definition and synthesis - point of concentration (convergence);
  • implementation - the definition of a solution that works (convergence).

This approach uses two types of thinking: divergent and convergent. With divergent thinking, we can look at the problem broadly, abstract and see it from the other side. Convergent thinking returns focus and identifies one or two priority tasks or solutions.
The phases of the diamond-shaped design thinking process either converge at one point or diverge. On the diverging phases, design thinkers do not limit themselves in the creative, and on the converging ones - concentrate and narrow their ideas.

  • CONSISTENCY
